Owners' League

East Division
West Division
Lineups and Rotations

Central Division

This Division expressed the first two Champions, and three out of four finalists in the first two years. Couldn't repeat for three long years due to the Western big guns, but re-established "Central Pride" lately with two straight Championship titles by the Pachos and the Candies.

Division overall record: 2467 - 1998 (.553)

Azzarita Candies

Roberto Caramelli

HIGHLIGHTS: Made history by winning the first official Championship in dramatic fashion (a seventh-game comeback win against the heavily-favored Flowers). Built respectability with seven straight solid seasons. Among the worst teams after the draft in 1988, and just below .500 at the All Star break, put up an impressive second-half comeback to win their third pennant in five years, by just two games. Couldn't do anything to stop the Pachos in 1999, but fielded their best roster ever and won their second Championship title in 2000 after a breathtaking regular season and a triumphal postseason. The owner is a professional complainer.

Faccos

Massimo Facchini

HIGHLIGHTS: In 1998, Mr. Facchini picked up the franchise left vacant by Mr. Motola (see the Fatties in the East Division) and the result was similar, with a fourth place. He resigned at the end of the season, leaving way to Mr. Cavicchi and his lowly Rabbits (see below). He came back in 2000, but again, he's playing in a tough division. Besides, it's great to have the handsome guy back.
BEST PLAYERS: Olerud, Hudson, Juan Guzman, Dye..

Mirtilli Flowers

                                                               Massimo Ortensi

HIGHLIGHTS: The most intriguing addition to the original nucleus of owners, won the division for the first time in 1997, after two unproductive appearances in the postseason coming from the wild card. Horrendous campaign in 1996 (and the ignominious Pat Hentgen loan to the Burberries). Was a virtual attender to the 1997 auction draft, bidding for players by telephone from his hospital bed in the middle of the night. He's the league's computer wizard, and nothing (but himself) can stop him!
BEST PLAYERS: Radke, Helling, Thome, Damon, Randa.

Reno Pachos

Alfredo Pacini

HIGHLIGHTS: One of only three franchises to win the Championship twice. After a couple of bad-luck years, re-established all of its charisma in 1999, winning a wonderful title as the underdog. Has been able to make up for the loss of players like Mark McGwire and Randy Johnson (both lost to the NL), and this adds a lot to his credit.

PAST FRANCHISES

Travelling Rabbits

HIGHLIGHTS: Owner: Mr. Roberto Cavicchi. The quintessence of incompetence. It's still debated whether it was a worse error on his part to join, or from the League to accept him. After a one-year nightmare, he was quickly thrown out of the League to make room for the second coming of the Faccos.
HISTORY
1999: 44 - 118. fourth, 60 GB.
ONE-YEAR RECORD: 44 - 118 (.272, dead last)
Postseason appearances: forget it!
